I’M A MULTI-SPORT ATHLETE AND CAN ONLY TRAIN 1X DAY. HOW SHOULD I COMBINE THE TRAINING?

If you can’t fit in all of the work on the Rx multi-sport schedule, we don’t blame you- it’s a lot of work to become proficient at multiple sports.  If you can only train 1x per day, we would still have you prioritize your weakness on Sport and S+C days.

Follow a ranking of numbering your sports from weakest being 1 and your priority, and 3 being your strongest sport. Rotate your sports with the PSE TRI Rx but emphasize your priority #1 Sport.  Here is a suggested weekly schedule outline:

– Mon S+C only
– Tues Sport Short Interval
– Wed S+C or Sport Long Interval
– Thurs Sport Long Interval
– Friday S+C
– Saturday Sport Stamina
– Sunday Rest or Sport Stamina

 

3-WEEK EXAMPLE TRIATHLON TRAINING PLAN, TRAINING 1x DAY (Athlete Sport Ranking: #1-Swim/ #2-Bike/ #3-Run)

WEEK 1

MON – S+C (1- Swim program)
TUES – Short Interval (3- Run)
WED – S+C (1- Swim program)
THU – Long Interval (1- Swim)
FRI – Sport Specific S+C w/ Sport Element (2- Bike program)
SAT or SUNTempo or Time Trial (1- Swim)

WEEK 2

MON – S+C (1- Swim program)
TUESShort Interval (1- Swim)
WED – S+C (1- Swim program)
THU -Long Interval (2- Bike)
FRI –Sport Specific S&C w/ Sport Element (3- Run program)
SAT or SUNTempo or Time Trial (3- Run)
